htc u11 life imei repair not successful black screen

I have U11 life that needs imei repair. Phone has android 8.0.0, security patch level 1 october 2017
- I'm using 1.38 version tool
- I have done "bootloader unlock"
- I have done "copy files to clip"
- when I try imei repair, clip detects phone as android 7.x , even though phone has android 8
