Hello everyone, my name is Angelo this is my first post and im a repair tech new to micro soldering and self learning, unfortunately im not at the shop so i will tell you about me a little bit, i started repair since the pager came out and the first ipods, then the iphone came, then the 3g came and so on, im a blackberry user since is more business and productivity flexible im more into sales but i keep getting referrals since i like to get into actual electronics, i dont have all the words and main line names but still i can replace a u2 ic, audio ic or make jumpers for the touch ic, but many times i get stuck on finding shorts (complicated shorts) i use dust remover, flux, my hand, alcohol and thinner but many times i just lose the job, having said that i hope im doing my first post the right way and in the right place, i will discribe what i have done to the iphone 7 since i am not at the shop and i dont have zxw at home or schematics i will tell the component location i hope you can help me.
i got into my hand an iphone 7 stuck on 1% and wont charge past that
i replaced the U2 ic chip with a new and does the same
check the schematics and checked on line and i found out there is not voltage on the capacitors coming out of the tigris ic (voltage into the tigris ic is 2.4v)
starting from the charging port to the 2 capps i get 2.5 but not the full voltage from the charger, then right next to the screw hole there is a transistor with three contacts and i just replaced it, tested and still no charging and the phone wont pass from white screen with apple logo
replaced again the u2 ic, replaced tigris ic and a small resistance next to the ut ic chip i think is the resistor that sends the signal to charge the battery but still no charging
i took apart my own iphone 7 plus and check for voltages on tigris voltage in and voltage out, same in the capps next to the charging por and the transistor and i get full voltage from all those test points,
i tested with a new charging port and i noticed that i get 2.5 volts
i was looking for shorts and i found a bunch of capps that look (beeps) shorted and i compared it with my and the same capps are shorted (beeps) as well so i figured out that is normal or the capps are suppose to be shorted, i hope you will understand my writing and i hope you can help me, i cant give capps number and location but as soon as i get to the shop i will provide more information
please help
